2006 Reilly's Barking Mad Cabernet Sauvignon

The Reilly’s history dates back to 1856 when Hugh Reilly, a shoemaker, arrived from Ireland and settled in the Clare Valley. He converted a stone barn into a cottage which also served as his cobblers shop. Today that cottage is the cellar door. The vineyards are located in Leasingham and Watervale, they are low yielding and non-irrigated.

Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Top note of violet, followed by cassis delivering a perfumed sniff. The palate is generous showing good weight and mouthfeel – verging on being joosy. Flavours of blackcurrant and white pepper are supported by fine grained tannins with excellent balance. Aftertaste of white pepper and spice.
