This is the sixth release of the Mr Riggs Shiraz, having in it’s short life already created an enviable reputation, keenly anticipated by wine lovers around the world it inevitably sells out within a couple of weeks of being released. Fruit for the 2006 vintage was sourced from four of the districts top vineyards ‘Penny’s Hill’, ‘Malpas Road’, ‘Breakneck Creek’ and ‘Brayden’s’, with each parcel kept separate during fermentation and maturation before final blending. Matured in a combination of new and one year old French and American oak for a period of 16 months.

Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Superbly aromatic nose, loaded with notes of violets, vanilla, blackberry and cinnamon. The palate reflects the nose and delivering a near perfect flavour profile, ripe blackberry juice, vanilla, violet infusions and liquorice allsorts are supported by a very strong black pepper back palate. Perfect balance, with velvet tannin structure. Aftertaste of vanilla, liquorice and confectionary.
