Many authorities consider the Clare Valley as Australia’s best Riesling area, claiming it to be Riesling’s Australian home! There are considerable variations in style within the region, with Watervale and Polish Hill being considered the two most prized of locations. The climate appears to be the key to Riesling’s success, with cool to cold nights and warm to hot summer days. Bright pale gold colour with straw hue. Top note of lime, followed by tropical fruit and light citrus. The palate has good weight, quite spicy. Clean acid finish. Nuances of orange rind in the aftertaste.
