Jean Max Roger has vineyards located in Sancerre and Menetou Salon. The Sancerre holdings are all at Bue, being the most southerly part of the district. Jean Max vinifies his wines from each vineyard separately, thereby reflecting the terroir of each site. The slightly warmer sites produce a micro climate that delivers broad, rich and complex Sancerre Wines. They have been rated by Robert Parker as an excellent producer.
Bright straw colour with pale straw hue. Restrained nose but still displaying obvious varietal character. Top note of confectionary, followed by a hint of tropical fruit, ripe gooseberry and spice. The palate displays flavours of gooseberry and confectionary. Grassy herbaceous palate layers. Clean acid finish. Grassy, gooseberry aftertaste.
Cellar 2-3 years (2009-2010)
