The Jackson family emigrated to Marlborough Valley, New Zealand in 1842 from Runnymede in England. Since that time, every successive generation of the Jackson family has been involved in running the Estate. The first vineyards were planted 30 years ago, producing outstanding Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The state of the art winery at Jackson Estate was commissioned in 2003 with a capacity of processing 2000 tonnes of fruit, three quarters of which is Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit is sourced from a number of vineyards in the Wairau Valley, which attributes to the complex layers found in the wines.
A Magnificent Example
This wine is produced after blending 20 different parcels from the same vintage. Bright pale straw colour, with water like hue. Top note of ripe gooseberry, followed by a hint of tropical fruit and unripe gooseberry, over a strong herbaceous background. Creamy palate texture. Aftertaste of ripe gooseberry and tropical fruit.
Cellar 1-2 years (2008- 2009)
