2006 Infrequent Flyers Glen Elgin Single Cask No.801068 13 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Sometimes described as "liquid fruit cake", for generations this little-known Speyside distillery has lent its distinctive flavour to one of the world’s most famous blends. The major part of production continues to be used in the White Horse blends, however Glen Elgin (relatively) recently became available as a single malt. The house style remains mellow and sweetly honeyed and only found as a standard issue 12 year old, excepting the odd indie bottling. For Jim Murray at least, Glen Elgin "Absolutely murders Cragganmore as Diageo's top dog bottled Speysider". Adelphi's Charles McLean also considers it one his favourite malts.
