The Giesen Wine Estate was established in 1981 at Burnham, South Christchurch. Three brothers, Theo, Alex and Marcel run the winery which has grown into one of New Zealand’s great export success stories. The operation consists of 75 acres which are planted in the cooler, drier Canterbury area whilst 360 acres are planted in the Marlborough District, regarded as one of New Zealand’s sunniest and driest climates.
An impressive, fresh Sauvignon Blanc.
Brilliant pale water colour with water like hue. Intense nose of passionfruit followed by ripe and unripe gooseberry with tropical fruit end notes. Mouthfilling palate with flavours of ripe gooseberry, passionfruit and tropical fruit. Clean acid finish. Long aftertaste of ripe gooseberry, lychee and passionfruit. Excellent value for money.
Cellar 1-2 years (2007-2008)
