The Fire Block takes its name from a block of grazing land that was annexed from the original property due to fears that the new steam train travelling through the Clare Valley might spark paddock fires. There is no evidence to suggest that this happened! The vineyard was planted in 1926 and is operated on traditional dry land farming techniques.

Very deep – almost opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Superb, lifted nose – top note of vanilla followed by plum, liquorice allsorts and spice – generous palate flavours of spice, plum and vanilla over a black pepper back palate. Fine dryish, balanced tannins. Very long aftertaste of spice, plum and black pepper.
Cellar 3-4 years (2012-2013)
Alc/Vol: 15.5%
