2006 Curly Flat Chardonnay

Bright green gold colour with straw hue. Appealing nose with aroma of yeast lees, biscuit, hazelnut and cashew showing barrel ferment character. The palate is more restrained than the 2005 wine delivering a flavour profile somewhere between a Meursault and Chablis. Flavours of spice and fig with nuances of hazelnut and toasted oak. Clean acid finish. Light aftertaste of lemon and grapefruit.

First Tasted 19th December, 2008;
Bright pale gold colour with straw hue. Lifted nose with yeast lees top note followed by cashew, almonds, honeycomb and citrus showing obvious barrel ferment character. The palate is refined, not as rich as those from previous years. Flavours of honeycomb, hazelnut and spice on the back palate. Clean acid finish. Aftertaste of lemon, spice and grape fruit.
