2006 Coldstream Hills Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine was matured for fifteen months in a combination of new (62%), one year old (15%), two year old and older (23%) French oak barriques. Deep dark crimson red colour with dark red crimson hue. The nose is more aromatic than the mainstream Cabernet displaying perfumed aromas of violets, blackcurrant, mulberry and cedar with a hint of tobacco also emerging. The palate displays superb rich ripe cabernet flavours of cassis, blackcurrant, violet infusions, cedar and spice. Fine grained well integrated tannins with aftertaste of blackcurrant, cedar and spice.
