The Shiraz grapes for the 2006 Patricia Shiraz were sourced from Brown Brothers vineyards in Heathcote (41%), Dinning’s vineyard in the King Valley (32%) and from the Glenkara vineyard in the Pyrenees (24%) with the balance coming from the Banksdale vineyard also located in the King Valley. The wine was matured for18 months in 98% new oak (mainly American with some French) barriques and puncheons.

Opaque black dark red colour with very deep black dark red hue. Lifted aromas of blackberry, liquorice allsorts and dark plum followed by some spice and peppery end notes. Full bodied with flavours of liquorice, blackberry, confectionary and spice followed by some blackpepper characters on the back palate. Fine grained, slightly chalky tannins with long aftertaste of blackpepper, liquorice and blackberry.
