Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Perfumed top note with cedar and violet infusions along with blackcurrant showing strong Cabernet character. The palate does a bit of a u-turn and is much tighter and restrained than the nose suggests – quite dry and tightly knit structure. Flavours of blackcurrant, cedar and stewed fruit with plum in the background. Fine dry tannins persist on the aftertaste.

From the best portions of two estate vineyards, and given 20 months maturation in new French oak. Beautifully delineated cassis fruit is framed by gently toasty oak and some floral notes; the palate is rich, deep, fine and very long; the brightness of fruit at the core is the essence of this wine, as is its harmony and balance.
Drink 2011-2021 with slow-cooked lamb shanks
