Yarra Park is a tiny seven acre vineyard which was planted in 1996 and 1997 to Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The philosophy is simply to produce outstanding fruit. This is achieved by cane pruning and limiting the number of buds per arm which results in yields of around 1.8 tonnes per acre. No irrigation is applied during the growing season. The wine is made under contract by Phil Kerney at Willow Creek on the Mornington Peninsula and matured in a variety of French oak casks, including Boussuet, Siruge and Taransaud. The Chardonnay fruit is hand picked and whole bunch pressed and is left unfiltered and unfined in order to produce a complex Burgundian inspired white.

An outstanding Chardonnay, showing excellent concentration of flavours. Bright straw colour with pale straw hue. Pronounced nose of yeast lees, cashew, honeycomb and hazelnut – delivering a very distinctive sniff. Creamy palate texture – flavours of yeast lees, honeycomb and hazelnut – excellent length and depth of flavours, superb concentration! Lingering back palate flavours of nougat and hazelnut which persist well into the aftertaste.
