Matured for 19 months in new French oak. Superb colour displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a deep black crimson hue. Ripe blackberry and liquorice scents emanate from the glass followed by some smoky vanillin cedar and spice. Dense, rich and super concentrated the palate boasts mouthfilling flavours of liquorice, black cherries and blackberry liqueur over a background of spicy vanillin oak and pepper. Huge textured finish with solidly built but velvet like tannins. All the components are in perfect harmony in this monstrous red. Incredible power finishing exceptionally long with an aftertaste of liquorice, black cherries, blackberry liqueur and spicy vanillin oak.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc 16%

Other Reviews….
The 2005 Shiraz Reserve was aged in 100% new French oak for 24 months. It has a super expressive nose of pain grille, smoked meat, game, pencil lead, licorice, black cherry, and blackberry liqueur. Voluptuous, full-bodied, and layered, this sexy wine is very intense and concentrated with enough structure to evolve for 10-12 years. Drink it through 2030.
