2005 Westlake Vineyards Albert's Block Shiraz

The motto for this wine is 3 U’s – “unfined, unfiltered, unreal”.

Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Superb lifted nose, with top note of violet, followed by blackberry, vanilla and liquorice allsorts. The palate has weight but misses out on length and depth. Flavours of vanilla, spice and liquorice emerge with violet infusions on the back palate. Soft tannins. Aftertaste of vanilla and liquorice allsorts. A generous red, but without length or depth.
