2005 West Cape Howe Tempranillo

An excellent example of Tempranillo. Bright crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. Medium body. Aroma of crushed cherries, raspberry and spice, followed by a hint of violet. The palate has good weight, with flavours of cherry, spice and a hint of liquorice emerging. Velvet smooth tannins, perfect balance. Long aftertaste of cherry, white pepper and raspberry.

First tasted, July 2006: Medium body. Purple crimson colour with deep purple hue. Youthful, pronounced nose of cherry, spice and black pepper. The palate delivers flavours of spice, cherry, and plum over an inky background. Fine dryish tannins. Moderate length. Inky cherry aftertaste.
