2005 The Colonial Estate Expatrie Semillon

Bright gold colour showing early development. Aroma of green tea, confectionary and hay followed by a spicy end note. The palate has good weight and mouthfeel. Flavours of green tea, tropical fruit and mango emerge with green tea remaining on the back palate. Spicy finish. Light citrus and green tea aftertaste.

Other Reviews... The 2005 Expatrie is a blend of 85% Semillon and 15% Riesling, the latter providing a zesty character. It offers notions of buttered citrus, sealing wax, and tropical fruit along with wonderful intensity and richness as well as a dry, full-bodied style. It will drink well for several years.
