David Dunn is an old time viticulturalist located in the Rutherglen district of North East Victoria. For 26 years he was responsible for the vines of St Leonard’s and All Saints but was retrenched after Peter Brown acquired the property. Too young for retirement, David’s family decided to plant 2 acres of Durif on red stony clay which was virtually their backyard. The vines are spur and rod pruned, with yields at 2.5 tonnes per acre. When we asked David if there was room to expand his tiny operation he replied, "I’ve got another acre of land but the Misses won’t let me expand!"

Totally opaque black purple colour with black purple hue. Lifted nose of black morello cherries, liquorice, plum, vanilla and spice. The palate has good weight and plenty of flavour. Black cherries, spice and liquorice are meshed together with fine dry and slightly chalky tannins. Aftertaste of dark chocolate, vanilla and morello cherries.
Cellar 5-8 years (2011-2014)
