Michael Warren and his wife Mary established Badgers Brook in 1993 with the purchase of a strategic parcel of land facing Maroondah Highway. Over the next few years of working weekends and holidays the vineyard was planted and a cellar door established. The Warren's success was assured from day one given the long experience that they had in wine distribution. Two labels have been established, Badgers Brook, from Estate grown fruit whilst Storm Ridge is used to market wine from carefully selected parcels of fruit from outside the Yarra Valley. The Sauvignon Blanc has always been an instant hit and that comes as no surprise given that grapes are sourced from one of Margaret River's leading producers. It delivers both intensity of flavour as well as strong varietal character.
An excellent example of Sauvignon Blanc.
Brilliant pale straw colour with water like hue. Grassy, herbaceous top notes followed by unripe gooseberry end notes, showing strong varietal character. The palate flavours are mouthfilling. Grassy, herbaceous flavours over a layer of gooseberry and spice. Excellent length and depth. Clean finish. Grassy, herbaceous aftertaste.
Cellar: 1-2 years (2007-2008)
