2005 St. Hallett Blackwell Shiraz

An impressive follow up to the 2004 but as with many of the wines from the 2005 vintage, a touch more restrained on the palate.
Totally opaque black purple colour with black purple hue. Excellent lifted nose with notes of plum, spice, vanilla and chocolate evident. The palate does not have that exuberant ‘joosy’ quality of the 2004, but none the less has a very impressive structure. Plum, spice and stewed fruit flavours are supported by fine grained tannins. Very long aftertaste.
