Very deep brick red colour with deep brick red crimson hue. Top note of dark chocolate, followed by plum and vanilla, with light smoky cassis end note. The palate structure is tight, but remains in excellent balance, with fine grained tannin structure. Aftertaste of spice and blackcurrant.

Retasted, March 2007: Youthful colour – brick crimson colour with crimson hue. Medium weight. Aroma of blackcurrant and spice, followed by a hint of cedar. The palate flavours are youthful, stewed fruit and plum dominant, there is a sense of inkiness. Fine grained dry chalky tannins. The acidity is on the high side. Aftertaste of stewed fruit and plum.

First Tasted, November 2006: Very deep black crimson colour with deep mauve crimson hue. Top note of blackcurrant, followed by cedar and spice, followed by a hint of liquorice and tea leaf. The palate flavours are tight with blackcurrant, cedar and spice flavours, over a dusty cedar background. Fine dry chalky tannins persist into the aftertaste.
