Redbank’s senior winemaker, Natalie Fryar has been at the helm for 4 years working with a team of dedicated grape growers. Her development of the Sunday Morning Pinot Gris has indicated the success of the variety in the King Valley, mimicking the wines produced in Alsace, France. An excellent
example of Pinot Gris. Bright, very pale straw colour with waterlike hue. Delightful nose of ripe pear, mango and spice, delivering an exotic sniff. The palate has generous mouthfeel, with clean acid backbone. Flavours of ripe pear, mango and quince paste emerge, followed by a touch of lemon on the back palate. Clean acid finish.
Cellar 2-3 years (2007-2008)
The excellent, tasty 2005 Pinot Gris Sunday Morning offers scents of lemon oil and honeyed apples in a medium-bodied, fresh, zesty style. Drink this fine effort over the next year. It is a better value than many Pinot Gris being made in California and Oregon.
