2005 Pettavel Southern Emigre Shiraz Viognier

Bright crimson colour with black crimson hue. Top note of plum, followed by vanilla, violets, spice, dried apricot and plum. The palate delivers flavours of apricot, spice and blackberry over a background of spice and liquorice. Fine grained tannins. Very strong white pepper back palate followed by black pepper. Very fine dryish but balanced tannins. Very long lingering spicy aftertaste. An outstanding Geelong Shiraz blend that reflects the capabilities of the district for producing top cool climate wines.
