2005 Mr Riggs Shiraz Viognier

Ben Riggs co-ferments Shiraz and Viognier in order to maximise the aromatics as well as integrate the flavour profile. The composition consists of 95% Shiraz and 5% Viognier, of which 80% has been sourced from McLaren Vale and 20% from Langhorne Creek.

Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Aroma of spice, dried apricot and vanilla. The Viognier component makes a significant contribution to the nose. Flavours of dark chocolate, mocha and liquorice are supported by fine grained, slightly chalky tannins. Aftertaste of plum, liquorice and mocha with dried apricot characteristic persisting.
