2005 Mitchelton Shiraz

A very impressive Shiraz that smells and tastes like there has been a touch of Viognier added, but it is labelled as a straight Shiraz. Opaque black crimson colour with deep black crimson purple hue. Lifted top note of violets, followed by vanilla, blackberry and black cherry. Ripe plum palate flavours followed by vanilla and confectionary. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance with nuances of dried apricot emerging and continuing into the aftertaste.
