2005 McLaren Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon

Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Top note of blackcurrant followed by spice, cedar and a hint of liquorice. On the palate flavours of leather and cedar over a layer of dark chocolate. On the back palate, blackcurrant and a touch of mocha. Fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, dark chocolate and spice.

First Tasted March 2008: Medium body, brick red colour with brick red hue showing early bottle development. Top note of cedar, followed by a touch of mocha, chocolate, spice and tea leaf. The palate displays flavours of cedar, blackcurrant with tea leaf in the background. Fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of mocha and cedar.
