$455.88 Dozen
Cellar: 3 - 4 Years (2010-2011)

Unlike the Oracle and Covenant Shiraz’ winemaker Kevin Mitchell sources small batches of old vine McLaren Vale shiraz fruit to produce the Parable. Each parcel of fruit is kept separate and matured in a combination of new and older French and American small oak casks for 24 months before final blending.

An unfiltered Red – totally opaque black crimson colour with strong cling to the glass wall. Top note of liquorice followed by mocha, dark chocolate, spice and blackberry, with nuances of toasted oak. The palate flavours are concentrated, with very spicy layers of vanilla, liquorice and confectionary. Velvet tannin structure. Black pepper background. Aftertaste of liquorice, plum and blackberry.
Cellar 3-4 years (2010-2011)
Alc/Vol: 15%

Other Reviews...
The 2005 Shiraz “Parable” from McLaren Vale is the most structured and muscular of this trio. It has an enticing nose of mineral, truffle, roasted meat, blackberry, and blueberry compote. Full-bodied and brooding on the palate, it will need 8-10 years to show its full potential. Drink it through 2030. Kilikanoon’s winemaker is the talented Kevin Mitchell.
