Established in 1997 Kilikanoon has quickly established a reputation for producing world class iconic Shiraz from vineyards located in the Barossa & Clare Valley’s. In more recent times winemaker Kevin Mitchell has also turned his hand to more budget priced offerings producing wines that offer ‘Killer Value’ under the Killerman’s Run label.
The outstanding 2005 vintage experienced in South Australia has enabled Kevin Mitchell to produce another exceptional Killerman’s Run Shiraz with an amazing price/quality ratio.
Opaque black purple colour with black purple hue, showing excellent colour cling to the glass. Perfumed nose with violet top note, followed by liquorice allsorts. The palate is ripe and ‘joosy’. Flavours of ripe blood plum are followed by ripe blackberry. Soft tannins. Long plum and blackberry aftertaste.
Cellar 3-4 years (2009-2010)
The 2005 Shiraz Killerman’s Run, which had just been bottled, is unbelievably good. It possesses a deep ruby/purple color, terrific blackberry and cassis fruit, hints of charcoal, licorice, and earth, and an opulent, voluptuous personality. Enjoy this super-sexy Shiraz over the next 3-4 years.
