The 2005 Journeys End Ascent is the second wine in the Shiraz trio, the first being Embarkment and the third is Arrival. The trio has already established a formidable reputation amongst wine lovers around the world with rave reviews from wine critics. The success of the wine is due to the obsession that winemaker Ben Riggs has with terroir – selecting the best sites from McLaren Vale to produce superb fruit, thus creating layers of complexity to these wines. Further complexity is achieved by using a variety of Shiraz clones, with each particular clone making its own unique contribution to flavour. A small proportion of Viognier has been added to this wine during fermentation to give the finished wine a delightful aromatic lift.

A great successor to the 2004 Journeys End Ascent. Exceptional value for money!

Opaque black crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Top note of liquorice, followed by spice, vanilla and blackberry. Mouthfilling palate, with flavours of vanilla, liquorice and plum supported by fine grained tannins. Perfect balance. Very long aftertaste of liquorice, vanilla and plum. Exceptional value for money!
