2005 Hyde Park Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

This wine has been made by ex Seppelt winemaker Ian McKenzie. Dark crimson red mauve colour with brick red mauve hue. Aromas of tobacco leaf, stewed fruit and spice. The palate is medium weight with leather and stewed fruit flavours followed by tobacco, cedar and spice. Very soft tannins with aftertaste of stewed fruit, spice and leather.
A soft red at its peak that needs drinking now (2010)
