The Heggies vineyard delivered winemaker Peter Gambetta a near perfect stage for vinous expression in 2005. This Reserve Riesling is a rare example in Australian winemaking where the grapes had such perfect fruit/acid balance that the wine was able to be made without any extra acid additions.

This benchmark example of an older Eden Valley Riesling is drinking superbly now or can be cellared a further 3-4 years and beyond.

Brilliant straw colour with faint greenish tinge on the edges and water like hue. Slightly deeper than the 2005 Pewsey Vale Contours Riesling. The nose offers intense, lifted notes of lemon, lime and spice with a toasted honey overlay. The palate is evolving very slowly and displays flavours of lemon, lime and spicy toasted honey like characters. Impeccable balance. Excellent acid structure and concentration. Clean crisp dry finish with long aftertaste of lemon, lime and toast.
Drink now or cellar 3-4 years (2010-2014)
Alc 12.5%.
