An elegant Barossa shiraz that needs some time to evolve. The wine was barrel fermented using 50% new American oak, with the remainder matured for 18 months in one and two year old American and French hogsheads. A small percentage of Hungarian oak was used to add complexity Very deep black crimson colour with black crimson hue – almost opaque. The nose reveals top notes of plum, spice and confectionary, delivering a perfumed sniff with strong varietal character. On the palate flavours plum, spice and liquorice allsorts. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance. Aftertaste of plum, spice, vanilla and liquorice allsorts.
