The wine is a blend of 75% Shiraz, 15% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre. The Shiraz is grown on the Old Rifle Range Vineyard established in 1998 on the foothills of McLaren Vale. The Grenache is sourced from Bells Block Vineyard, from 80 year old dry grown bush vines yielding on average 2 tonnes per acre. The small component of Mourvedre is sourced from low yielding 15 year old vines from Blewitt Springs. An outstanding example of the blend.

Opaque black purple colour with deep purple hue. Lifted nose with top note of ripe raspberries, followed by cherry ripe, dark chocolate, spice and vanilla. The palate flavours are mouthfilling, delivering a complex Rhone inspired flavour profile. Flavours of raspberry, white pepper and liquorice emerge. The tannins are perfectly balanced with very spicy back palate. Very long aftertaste of dark cherry, raspberry and liquorice with
white pepper persisting.
