2005 Gemtree Vineyards Bloodstone Tempranillo

Not as voluptuous as the 2004 but an excellent example of the Spanish varietal grown under the Australia sun. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of spice, blood plum and vanilla followed by a hint of smoky oak. The palate has excellent weight and flavour. Flavours of spice and white pepper are overlaid with black cherry and plum. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance. Long aftertaste of spice, musk and cherry.
Cellar 3-4 years (2009-2010)
