Working organically since 2001, Domaine Taupenot-Merme is a 7th Generation family-owned Domaine of 13 hectares on the Cote de Beaune and the Cotes de Nuits, with Grand Crus including Clos des Lambrays, Charmes-Chambertin and Corton Rognet at Mazoyeres Chambertin. Vine-age is on average 50 years. All grapes are de-stemmed, and medium or low toast 25% new oak is used for the village wines, with 40% for grand and premier cru.

Tasting note: '100% Pinot Noir (of course) and with plenty of lively fruit, flavours of sweet berries, roasted mushroom and a hint of dark earth. Obviously at this level the 2005 vintage conditions worked well in its favour. Plenty of Pinot Noir varietal character, and enough minerality and earth to remind you of from whence it came!'
Rating: 87/100 - tasting note sourced from Burghound
