Domaine du Nozay at Sainte Gemme is on the northern edge of the Sancerre Appellation. The Chateau foundations date back to the 13th century with the Chateau itself being built in the 17th century. The vineyard was established from scratch by Philippe de Benoist, whose brother-in-law is Aubert de Villaine, co-owner of the famous Burgundy house, Domaine de la Romanee Conti.
Bright water like colour with pale water like hue. Aroma of confectionary, followed by a grassy, herbaceous end note. On the palate flavours of ripe gooseberry followed by confectionary over a grassy background. There is a hint of creaminess in texture. Clean acid finish, with just a touch of lemon. Aftertaste of ripe gooseberry and confectionary.
Cellar 2-3 years (2008-2009)
