- Cellar 4 - 5 years (2011-2012)
- ABV 14.5%
- Closure: Cork
Very deep mauve crimson colour with deep mauve hue. Perfumed nose of violets and spice followed by liquorice and ripe raspberry. Showing impressive lift. On the palate there is a hint of liquorice, followed by spice and raspberry. The tannins are quite firm and remain tight. Aftertaste of liquorice, raspberry, cherry, spice and white pepper.
Cellar 4-5 years (2011-2012)
The most backward, structured, tannic, and ageworthy of these offerings is always the Grenache Romas. The estate’s flagship Grenache, it is fashioned from 86-year-old vines planted on ironstone soils at the highest elevation of the Blewitt Springs Vineyard. Structured, meaty, powerful, smoky, and deep is the 2005 Grenache Romas. Always the most backward of these cuvees, it offers copious amounts of black raspberries, a rich, full-bodied, powerful palate, and crisp acidity. Forget about it for another few years, and enjoy it over the following 12-15.
