2005 Bordeaux has received widespread critical acclaim as one of the greatest vintages in living memory and this has not been restricted to just the classified growths . Many of the lesser known terroirs or appellations have excelled in 2005, Robert Parker stating “…these are some of the finest wine bargains of the world…”

Parker describes the wines from such Estates as 'Little Big Ones', adding 'These wines represent many earnest, sincere, over-achieving men and women who are taking unheralded, less prestigious terroirs and turning out brilliant wines...If you are a wine consumer, this is where to spend your money'.

An impressive Bordeaux red from 35 year old vines.

The blend is composed of 55% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium body crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. Top note of blackcurrant and spice followed by cedar, earth and truffle. Classic Bordeaux palate structure with flavours of truffle, cedar and spice showing good persistence. Fine dry tannins. Truffle, cedar and blackcurrant aftertaste.
