The 2005 vintage in the Loire Valley has been rated 10/10 with moderate, dry weather ensuring the grapes acidity remained balanced whilst developing excellent aromatics. The wine was kept on lees for 15-24 months after which time, it was riddled and disgorged. No dosage was added. The 2005 vintage has just arrived and it’s the best yet!

The mousse is a fine pale cream colour with good persistence. Fine persistent bead – followed by the appearance of a straw coloured base wine. The blend of Chardonnay with Chenin Blanc works brilliantly with aroma of confectionary, yeast lees, baked apple showing good complexity with honey end note. The palate is very creamy, this is the creamiest Bouvet that we’ve seen in recent years. Clean acid finish. Aftertaste of sherbet, confectionary, quince and baked apple.
