2005 Boundary Rider Chardonnay

An excellent follow up to the 2004 Boundary Rider Chardonnay. Deep straw colour with gold overlay. Aromas of cashew, yeast lees and biscuit. A touch more subdued than the 2004, but this wine has just been bottled - give it a month and the nose will evolve superbly. The palate has a creamy texture, overlaid with flavours of yeast lees, honeycomb and cashew over a background of melon, peach and spice. The palate delivers excellent varietal character showing well integrated oak. Very long melon, light toast aftertaste with the spiciness being very persistent.
