2005 Balblair First Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Only a handful of ex-bourbon casks laid down in 2005 were selected by Distillery Manager John MacDonald to form what's been described as a Balblair classic. Bottled in 2016, this light, fruity and refreshing malt replaces the 2003 vintage in the core range. Non chill filtered and natural colour.

Other reviews…...This is the youngest bottling in the brand’s portfolio. It was matured in bourbon barrels and is non-chill filtered. The nose is relatively light and fruity: vanilla, ripe bananas, honey, a wisp of smoke, and soft spices. Notes from Balbalir… Balblair’s signature style of citrus orchards is followed by intense sweetness of toffee and vanilla. Rounded off by a deliciously spicy, long finish. The superb dram is bright and full of character, a ray of sunshine in a bottle. 46% Alc./Vol.
