Yalumba Signature wines represent the best of the vintage with the first wine being made in 1962. The vintage conditions were perfect for the development of Cabernet and Shiraz. Good spring rains, followed by a relatively cool growing conditions and a long cool autumn allowed the grapes to develop maximum flavour profiles as well as retaining natural acid levels. The wine is matured in a mixture of old and new American, Hungarian and French hogsheads. The 2004 Signature commemorates three of the principals behind Yalumba’s Negociant operations – Brenton Fry, John Auld and Brian Walsh.

Opaque black purple colour with black purple hue, showing excellent cling. Superb lifted nose of vanilla and spice followed by a liquorice end note. The palate is superbly integrated with flavours of blackberry, blackcurrant and spice layered with black pepper and vanilla. Fine grained tannins. Very long aftertaste of black pepper and blackcurrant.
Cellar 4 - 5 years (2012 - 2013)
Alc/Vol: 14.5%

Other reviews...
Opaque purple-colored, it presents a perfume of pain grille, earth, tar, vanilla, pepper, blueberry, and blackberry. Opulent on the palate, it has gobs of ripe fruit, complexity, superb balance, and exceptional length. It will improve over the next 8-10 years in the cellar and drink well through 2030.
