2004 Vasse Felix Margaret River Shiraz
Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson purple hue. The nose is impressive, with toasted oak top
note, followed by liquorice, blackberry and spice with a vanilla end note. The palate displays strong cool climate Shiraz character and a sense of elegance, but still with plenty of varietal power. Flavours of blackberry and vanilla are followed by black pepper and hints of liquorice. Excellent weight and length. Strong black pepper aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years (2011-2012)
Alc/Vol: 14.5%
Other Reviews....
Much more weight, density and structure than most Margaret River Shiraz, and confounds the critics who decried the Jindong subregion; plum, blackberry and spice, augmented by the astute use of oak. To 2015.
