2004 Toolangi Estate Chardonnay

This is an estate wine, the labelling difference being extremely subtle. Bright pale gold colour with pale straw hue. The nose reveals a degree of sophistication, lacking in the straight Toolangi wine. Aroma of toast, yeast lees, melon and fig. The palate structure is quite tight edging on echoing Chablis stylistically. There is a light roast almond flavour with hint of grapefruit emerging. Clean finish. Very spicy, grapefruit aftertaste.
