Medium body, crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. The nose reveals superb pinot aroma – perfumed notes of spice strawberry and violets are followed by a hint of cherry and beetroot. The palate is tight at this stage and needs 4-5 years to evolve. Flavours of strawberry and cherry are coaxed from the palate followed by a touch of rhubarb. The tannins are soft, aftertaste of spice, cherry and rhubarb.
Cellar 4-5 years (2010-2011)
Alc/Vol: 13.5%

First tasted, October 2005:
Deep crimson colour, deeper than the Cuvee Emile.  The nose is more subdued than the Cuvee, but that is expected and will build over the next few years.  Aroma of cherry and spicy oak with a hint of game emerging.  Palate flavours of cherry, plum and spice evolve.  Very good palate weight and mouthfeel.  Moderate length.  Velvet tannins.
Rating: 90/100
