Shaw & Smith was established in 1989 by cousins Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith. Originally their focus was on Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, which they’ve had a great deal of success with. In more recent times they have expanded the range to include Pinot Noir and Shiraz.

An excellent example of cool climate shiraz.

The wine was matured for 15 months in new, one and two year old French oak barriques. Very deep, almost opaque black purple colour with deep mauve purple hue. Superb nose – violets, blackberry, and spice with liquorice allsorts end notes. The palate delivers flavour and elegance. Flavours of spice, vanilla, cedar and liquorice allsorts are supported by a violet infusion back palate and velvet tannin structure. Perfect balance. Aftertaste of plum, spice, vanilla and confectionary. An elegant style of shiraz.
Cellar 4-5 years (2010-2011)
