2004 Port Phillip Estate Shiraz

Cool climate Shiraz can be exciting, and quite different. The Port Phillip Estate Shiraz delivers an impressive flavour profile. Very deep crimson mauve colour with purple overtones and purple mauve hues. Top notes of blackberry and ripe plum followed by a hint of violet and liquorice, showing distinct varietal character. There is elegance, structure and flavour on the palate. Flavours of white pepper, plum, spice and cherry emerge with white pepper re-emerging on the back palate. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance. Very long aftertaste of cherry, liquorice and white pepper.
