2004 Pertaringa Under Cover Shiraz
This wine picked up a trophy at the recent UK Decanter Magazine World Wine Awards for best
Very deep, almost opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Aroma of liquorice, vanilla and ripe plum followed by a spice end note. The nose is a classic McLaren Vale sniff! The palate is generous with typical ‘joosy’ flavours expected from a top McLaren Vale red – flavours of vanilla, liquorice allsorts, black pepper and spice are evident – totally mouthfilling. Velvet smooth tannins. Very long black pepper, liquorice aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years (2010-2011)

Spotlessly clean, but sombre black fruit and dark chocolate aromas; a round, supple and generous palate; good tannin and acid balance.
