Produced from a blend of 96% Shiraz and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon the wine was matured for 16 months in large (1460 litre), old oak vats which impart minimal oak character on the wine.

Deep purple black colour with crimson hue. Aromas of confectionary, liquorice and mocha with background notes of vanillin spice and toast. As the wine warms up the nose becomes quite perfumed. Medium to full bodied palate displaying a sense of refinement with flavours of blackberry, liquorice, spice, cedar and mocha with some pepper overtones. Fine dusty dry tannins, slightly chalky giving the wine a somewhat restrained mouthfeel. Excellent length and persistence - long liquorice, plum and pepper aftertaste. An elegant St. Henri with the structure for long term cellaring.
