The first of the Mr Riggs Adelaide Hills Riesling and its developing well. Bright pale straw colour with water like hue, with just a hint of green. Lifted aromatic nose of spice, lychee and rose petal, delivering an exotic sniff. The palate displays a pronounced but fully balanced degree of residual sweetness with flavours of ripe pineapple, tropical fruit and ripe lime. Clean acid finish. Excellent length and depth. Long Aftertaste of ripe pineapple, lime and rose petal.

First Tasted, September 2004:
One of the most interesting Rieslings produced since the late 1970’s when a young Brian Croser released the 1975 Hardys Siegersdorf Riesling. This wine made by Ben Riggs, or if you prefer his German title, Herr Riggs, is based on the Spatlese tradition of Great German Rieslings.
Brilliant pale straw colour with water like hue, and showing a hint of green. Wonderful nose of spice, floral notes, tropical fruit and orange blossom. The palate has an explosion of ripe nectarines and mandarin flavour infused with lime and lemons, giving a superb balance of acidity and residual sweetness. Auntie Joy is going to love this wine, however, stocks are miniscule.
